With it looking increasingly likely that John Eustace will become the new Swansea City manager in the coming days, I’m here to take a look at which are the most needed positions at the Welsh club.

Central Midfield - Ilias Chair (QPR)

With rumours surrounding Matt Grimes future at the club, Ilias Chair would be the perfect replacement. Eustace will know of Chair from his time at QPR. Chair could be deployed as a central midfielder in a two, or as an attacking midfielder behind the striker

Defender - Leif Davis (Leeds)

21 year old Leif Davis, naturally a left back by trade could deploy as a centre back in John Eustace’s 3-4-2-1 formation. Davis does have experience playing in a back three as he’s played there before for Leeds United.

Winger - Anthony Scully (Lincoln City)

Former West Ham youth player Anthony Scully, now playing for Lincoln City in League 1, will be an excellent signing for Swansea. At only 22 years old, Scully has been at Lincoln since February 2020, after leaving West Ham United’s academy.

The Irishman played 40 times in total last season, scoring 11 goals and getting 4 assists from both wings.

Central Midfield - Barry Bannan (Sheffield Wednesday)

Swansea City are interested in Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan.

The 31 year old was a shining light in a pretty dismal season for the Owls, a year that sadly ended in relegation for them.

The Wednesday star will be available for around £1million.

Winger - Bright Osayi-Samuel (Fenerbahce)

Bright Osayi-Samuel is a tricky winger with a abundance of pace, if Eustace deploys the 4-3-3 formation that he is known for from his time at QPR. Osayi-Samuel will play predominantly on the left wing.
